BAILLEUL
Perched on top of a gentle hill, with its proud belfy overlooking our 'mountains', Bailleul leaves a lasting impression. A subtle mixture of the attractions of the town and the gentle surrounding countryside, it leaves visitors with imagines of bell towers and an atmosphere of chimes in the air.
The history of Bailleul was merged with that of Flanders until 1678, the date when it joined France. Destroyed eight times during its long history, its reconstruction after 1918 allowed coherent town planning in keeping with Femish character. Frontages and monuments with gothic windows and 'sparrow step' roof pinions.
